"Excellent place to stay in Gion. Really nice location, convenient. Attentive staff but they will not get in your way. Nice bathroom with a Japanese-style shower and tub area. Very clean and nice amenities. Although no breakfast provided, they provide suggestions and a convenience store is right across the street."
"This is listed as a 3 star hotel. It is not. It is the most luxurious hotel we’ve stayed at, including 5 star properties. The room was amazing. The location was perfect. Although everyone in Japan seems extraordinarily nice, the staff here beat even that standard. There was not one second of our time at this property that wasn’t perfect. 10/10. "

"Hotel from outside doesn't look great but at the second you step in you change your opinion, it's a beautiful hotel, well situated between the Gion district and across the river less than 10 minutes walk all the traffic and vibrancy of the city, near to bars and restaurants, great drinks at the bar, rooms on the small side but very nice."
"Perfect location in Gion, easy walking distance to convenient bus stops and subway stops, as well as many restaurants/shops. The Shirakawa river was so relaxing to watch. From our room, we could see cranes, turtles and large fish! Excellent decor with art and beautiful lighting, incredibly spacious (3 stories, all with full bath) with nice amenities (coffee/tea, pajamas/robe, umbrellas, laundry!, rooftop deck) and all rooms/floors had separate lockable entry code. I had only minor quibbles...

"This was a charming little place very close to the river, restaurants and shopping and just a short walk to the subway. Check-in was easy, staff was nice and the rooms were well-designed, cozy and clean. The price was very reasonable and we would definitely return. "
"Our stay was amazing! Gion Misen Furumonzen was a great introduction to Kyoto. The location is a hidden gem while conveniently located across the street from a Lawson convenience store. The little bar was a sweet addition to the experience. This was by far the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in (in the world). The staff were considerate and helpful. We loved it so much, we booked an extra night. 10/10 recommend this hotel. "
