"Stylish and spacious for family of 6. Very thoughtful touches and amenities in room and layout was very comfy with couch and coffee table. Location was in Gion district which was lively and convenient to stores and restaurants(including Family Mart and Mcdonald's). Free drinks in lobby was a big plus. Only tiny downside is our room was facing a bar which was a little noisy on the weekend but we were able to sleep fine. Staff was very accommodating and professional. Would stay here again"

"good location, nice and quiet place to stay. clean, well organized. we had everything we needed. their river view suite on 4th floor is gorgeous with outdoor sitting and little zen garden of your own… the finishes and the layout is very well executed. we had kitchen and laundry in our suite. so we did not want to leave"

"As a solo traveller this place exceeded my expectations. The room was very cozy, bathroom very chic and practical and the location was amazing. It’s right at the start of the older cobblestoned dimly lit area and coming home after dinner was really a treat walking the streets. "

Some of the nearby dining was fantastic and less than a two minute walk from the hotel. Hotel was extremely clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend. "

"The initial room we were allocated was downstairs and very musty, but the hotel manager moved us up to the third floor and the room was great. Not a big room, as expected in Japan, but more than adequate for our two night stay. Was a bit hard to find initially, but location was great in the Gion area for eating, bars overlooking the river, sightseeing and easy access to the trains (including the local train to Osaka at a significantly lower price than the Bullet train). "Rooms are very nice with several amenities but are small as is common in Japan. I stayed in a superior Queen room by myself and I think it would be tight for two. "Love the location. Love the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The complimentary drink bar by the lobby (coffee, water, soda, sake) is excellent. For family with small children, the craft table (origami, coloring books, stamps) is very useful to keep them entertained. We stayed in the room with washing machine so we were able to travel light. I knock off 1 star because the hallway smelled like stale grease from restaurant. Luckily the smell didn’t get into the hotel room."
