"I lived in Summit for 40 years and only stayed here after moving away. This is a charming converted multi-story home, very old-school in its bones, but updated for wifi, chargers, etc. Nicely appointed, two quiet blocks from downtown Summit. Real staff on site--not a tie-line to some national headquarters. Staff goes home at 6 but is close by and available by phone if needed. Spacious sitting room and breakfast area with nice spread of breakfast fare. Short walk to the train (NJ transit to NYC and elsewhere). Summit has restaurants ranging from a NYC quality steak house (Roots) to The Summit Diner, a 1920s-era DDD where my children and I spent every Saturday morning eating short-stacks and eggs & corn beef hash. The DeBary is my new go-to place for when I'm visiting. If you really need a gleaming Ritz Carlton, well there's one a couple of miles away (charging $500/night more), but you'll be disappointed.
Call-out to Emily, Innkeeper: Thanks for the friendly, small-town service."
