"This was our 2nd stay at this hotel amd we loved it on both occasions. Really lovely welcome from all the staff. There is a beautiful scent around the property whjch makes it feel very luxurious. Some aspects of the room like the furniture and carpet are rather dated /worn but the beds are comfy and rooms are quiet. The restaurant and other rooms around the hotel look really elegant, particularly on our visit in November when everything was very Christmassy.. The grounds are amazing and we really enjoyed sipping our cocktails outside the grandeur of this property, and using the spa facilities like the jacuzzi and steam room. All in all, a really pleasant stay. We will be back! "

"As a single woman travelling alone, I rarely feel unsafe in a hotel, but unfortunately at this hotel I did and I never leave negative reviews. Upon arriving the reception area had a few Eastern European men ‘mooching’ about, there was nobody on reception to greet me, but knowing this is a check in remotely hotel that was fine, had it not been for the men hanging around the area. My room although clean had a horrible smell and the balcony door was unlocked. I had a terrible nights sleep, not just because the bed is so hard, but I woke at every noise thinking someone was entering the room. At 4:45am there was a few knocks on my door - I don’t know if this was a room mistake, but just added to my concern. There wasn’t any mention of having to pay for parking onsite, so was annoyed at having to pay £10 to park overnight- especially when in the morning I could see I could have parked outside the hotel for free. I have since read that this hotel is/was housing asylum seekers, so if you’re a lone woman travelling alone; I would avoid - equally if you don’t want to sleep on a rock hard bed avoid. "

"I messaged them early on the day of checkin to advise i would be late. Upon arriving they could not find my reservation and kept me waiting with no resolution at 2.30am just wanting to go to sleep I had to contact 24 hour guest support for them to find the reservation and eventually check me into my room but blame was placed on me by customer support saying that they couldn't guarantee a message was received as i booked through hotels.com and not them. I stopped in a motorway service to ensure I wasn't driving tired and then got blamed for their rubbish systems. Pretty disgusted"

"Our room was cosy & clean in the Garden house. We loved the buggies that took us all around the different parts of the estate. The staff were so friendly & helpful. Our Sunday dinner was delicious. Breakfast was excellent too. The SPA tailored massage treatment given by Sylvia was so amazing. The indoor swimming pool was lovely. The saunas & jacuzzi was so relaxing. We had an amazing Birthday celebration at Beaverbrook. I highly recommend this hotel. "

"We stayed at Thatcher’s Hotel (part of Surya Hotels) for three nights during half term. Overall, it’s an average hotel but offers good value for money. The rooms have been renovated and are modern and comfortable, and the beds were very comfortable which we appreciated. However, there were a few downsides. The room was extremely hot during the night, which made it difficult to sleep comfortably. Breakfast was average — nothing special — and dinner in the evening was also average but quite expensive for what it was. The location is on a main road near a petrol station, so it’s not the most scenic setting. You do need to drive to find somewhere nice for a proper walk. It’s also worth noting that during our stay we were the only guests with children, so it felt more like an adult-focused hotel rather than a family-oriented one. In summary, it’s fine for a short stay and reasonably priced, but don’t expect anything exceptional."

"Room was very cold ( plastic curtains over large patio door ) water was lukewarm, toilet cistern ran all night . Only 4 UHT milk and one earl grey tea bag !!Charged for parking in The Burford Car Park Area to right of room block on grass was covered in dogs mess !!Shocking place "
