The bathroom stood out the most - all the furnishings and decor, nearly renovated - the food was very nice as well
Top quality food. Steak & Ale pie to die for and excellent fish & chips.
Great breakfast with quality produce.
Brilliant selection of ales.
Old fashioned English Inn with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
Tidy room with a modern en-suite shower room. Bed not to our liking but that's very much a personal choice.
In a very quiet location with no shops nearby but would recommend for an overnight stay.
Good country pub and accommodation with great food
Excellent friendly helpful staff, room was clean and bed was comfy, bathroom and shower good as well with nice products. Food in bar was very good and also breakfast full English and other courses available and good with excellent coffee. Jigsaw in bar which we done in the evening with a couple of good beers. Good parking facilities.
Very friendly and proactive staff. Nice room, well decorated, with a comfy bed. Excellent food, both dinner and breakfast, good beer selection. Had a delightful stay.
An overnight stay on the way home. Some difficulty finding it blame satnav.
Although late we had a great meal, breakfast was also very good
Staff friendly,in splendid countryside.
A lovely place to get away, We only overnighted here, but we will be back. Very professional and friendly staff. Close to Gatwick but felt as if it was in some quite haven.
Having had a 3 hour drive down, we were greeted with a smile and two delightful rooms. Crisp linen and a smile. Food was fabulous (try the scotch eggs). Beer was good and the conversation was great. Will come back when visiting family. Fully booked for Sunday lunch so make sure you book if coming to stay. Judging by the 3 courses we had well worth booking
Great quirky pub with rooms in the Surrey hills. Cyclist paradise as we woke in the morning to hundreds stopping for a drink or refreshments. Only complaint that the pub closed early even for residents, however great homemade food.
The staff was top notch. Very welcoming, had an issue with the room and they had no problem switching the room. Will return!

Quirky place to stay
The location of the hotel is stunning, with great views from the top of Leith. Very, very quiet surroundings. The room was comfortable but with repairs needed to furniture and equipment. Food was good quality but be prepared for a wait. An interesting stay!
Lovely Saturday night away up at Leith Hill. We arrived for a late lunch. We’d booked a double room for the night but when the staff saw our two Labradors - they gave us a much bigger room.
Everyone was really friendly at the pub and the Plough is perfect for exploring the beautiful countryside around Coldharbour. The food was excellent and the service superb. Breakfast was really good.
It feels really ‘different’ up there - lovely walks and stunning views. We’ll be back.
We booked at The Plough for a night while exploring the Surrey Hills. The welcome was warm and the staff super helpful and nice to talk to!
The room was nicely decorated with good bed linens and high quality amenities. There was a little noise from the pub below during the evening but nothing to worry about and that stopped at closing time. This is a village pub but NOT a rowdy one!
We dined in the restaurant on the evening and had breakfast the next day. All food was super tasty and good value. Do eat there if you're staying there as you will certainly enjoy the food!
All in all a lovely stay and we would certainly consider visiting again.
The room was very noisy and the bed uncomfortably. The room was very small and bathroom tiny. The headboard was loose so I had to put a pillow behind it so as not to move during sleep.
The food was tasty but limited breakfast although the manager di accommodate an early breakfast for us. Overall not the best stay but the manager did say he was just about to go into a re furbishment programme so best of luck to him

Could have been cleaner (check toilet bowl), no t bags or spoon, kettle too big to fit under bathroom tap. A bright light outside the window on all night and a compressor noise all night. The worst thing was the outside metal stairs to get to the bedrooms, had it been raining I wouldn't have stayed. Food limited to what is offered on certain nights. The host was brilliant but his wife really shouldn't serve breakfast in her 'nightie'. Amazing location for walking and cycling.

This was a mixed bag of a stay. The staff is very pleasant and the food at the inn really was excellent. The room itself seemed to have rather less attention to details. The entryway to the rooms was rather cluttered with linens laundry bags which remained throughout our stay, and only about half of the lights in the room worked, leaving it quite dim at all times. The staff noted to us the problem with the lights as we checked in but they seemed strangely uninterested in doing anything about it and this remained unaddressed. We also noted a bit of mold in the shower and ceiling in the bathroom which shouldn’t be tolerated. All in all this wasn’t a terrible stay, but if you have other options I would suggest considering those instead.
This was a lovely Inn, very pleasant and helpful staff, we arrived at midday and was able to check in straight way as rooms were ready, normal check in 3pm. The rooms were a little on the small side but adequate. The curtains in our room were hanging off the rail just needed some hooks. The wardrobe door did not stay shut but a convenient side table was placed there to keep it shut. The towel rail in the bathroom was not working, and when we had a shower it was not draining away so overflowed out onto the bathroom floor. The outside of the property looks a little tired, in need of a lick of paint. We had dinner there but 4 of the mains were unavailable as sold out earlier in the day, there was also no cheese for the cheeseboard option in desserts, but what we had very was very good. Steaks were cooked just as requested.
overall we had a pleasant stay.
The hotel was very shabby but not chic. Initially I was given a small room at the rear of the hotel. Wardrobe non functioning, door wedged closed with a coffee table. Inside very dusty with someone else’s clothes in a carrier bag. Shower room cramped and grubby with mould around the ceiling. Bed was clean and comfortable. Water hot but not draining properly. After complaining I was given a larger better room but lights didn’t work over the bathroom mirror. Paint peeling off the ceiling. Bed very comfortable. Management apologised for the state of the rooms and said they were waiting a refurbishment. Breakfasts were well prepared and tasty. I was given a 30% reduction on my bill. I don’t recommend this hotel until it is given a full renovation both inside and outside. Not appropriate for the elderly or disabled because all bedrooms are accessed up an outside metal fire staircase. It was a pity because the village of cold harbour was very pretty.
