"Stayed two nights for a long weekend, perched on the edge of Highclere Castle for our visit. Quite close to the A34, but even though our room was on that side we had no traffic noise. Nice little room upstairs in the cottage next door. Breakfast was included and that was excellent. Also had two evening meals, sample photos attached. Chef is very talented. Would happily return."

"Was just a stopover on a motorcycle road trip and the Swan was perfectly fine stop clean and all I needed with out of the way parking for the bike. Staff were nice and helpful, had an OK, average breakfast in the morning. I also ate here the evening of my stay and this was not great, perhaps between chefs 🤔"

There are no blackout blinds, so bring an eye mask! Double glazing reduces the noise, but you’ll need ear plugs if sleeping with windows open. The hot water cylinder only heats up at night, so it’s not unusual to have no hot water in the evenings!"
