Set on a picturesque canal, a garden by the waters edge with waddling ducks coming to say hello, the staff team here are caring and kind. Our room had an old but very modern feel and as a couple we discussed the art on the walls. We've had a lovely stay and we're made to feel very welcome.

The Dundas Arms is a warm welcoming hotel in an interesting setting between canal and river on the edge of a lovely village. The room was well appointed with a comfortable bed. The restaurant was busy with good service and a good menu of delicious food. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient. It was our diamond wedding celebration and we were well looked after and given complimentary bubbly to celebrate. We had a most enjoyable 3 days and consider Dundas an ideal country venue and good value.

Delightful linens, food, ales, garden... and the staff are wonderful. A hidden gem that is a beautiful getaway easily accessible by car or railroad - or indeed on the Kennet by boat!

We thought the room was not worth the price. It was a bit shabby and lacked the extras with a room that price. Early evening we saw two rats outside on our patio. There was a lack of staff at certain times and this was communicated to us when asking for breakfast. The bar and gardens were lovely, they were very helpful with our food choices but the Sticky toffee pudding was not to a good standard.

Nice location and a great beer garden. Stayed in river room and had lunch and dinner. Lunch was a decidedly mediocre burger for 20 quid. Dinnerā€”fish and chips with minty peasā€”was excellent. Room had a lovely patio on the river but the room and furniture were tatty, especially so given the 131 quid price. Bed was quite comfortable, though. Breakfast was in an attractive breakfast room and was quite good. All in all only an OK place for the price, but I wouldnā€™t go out of my way to stay here again.

We stayed at The Dundas when attending a wedding nearby, and it was just lovely. Wonderful staff, super friendly. Our room was great, the bed was so comfortable and I didnā€™t want to get out of it! Beautiful surroundings by the canal, we had a lovely private patio out to the water. Hoping to return for lunch in warmer weather!

This is a good option if staying locally. We opted for a nice room on the canal and it was delightful. Very pleasant helpful staff with special mention to Matty who helped soothe an issue.

Idyllic setting

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home, and nothing was too much trouble. Matty the Manager went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed, and was really good as a people person, very ably help by his assistant manager Liam. We loved the setting, adjacent to the Canal, breakfast was excellent. Highly recommend this team and venue

Stayed for 2 nights for our 35th wedding anniversary, room was spacious and comfortable with two very nice easy chairs. The shower had a bit of a mind of its own, but was lovely, hot and very powerful. Nice tea and coffee without the usual NescafĆ©! Particularly liked the Monbana hot chocolate. Great food and staff very friendly and hardworking. Nice walks along the canal, all in all weā€™d go back.

Very comfortable room, nice touches with water, good quality ground coffee, a cafetiere and what looked like home made cookies. Staff gave us a small flask of fresh milk. Our room had an outside seating area with a lovely view over the river at the back.
