"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this small apartment conveniently located in downtown Downieville. Great views of the town below and surrounding mountains. The lodging was very clean and comfortable with a quiet atmosphere conducive to relaxation. As previous reviewers have mentioned the driveway up to the house is very steep so make sure you have decent tires and put your car in low gear before heading up the road! I would be happy to stay here again next time I make it to Downieville."

"Was expecting a quiet, boring night but the old fashioned hotel bar was lively with interesting people so I enjoyed the fun! It’s not a vibe for young children maybe but perfect t for me as a solo traveler to meet friends. I’ll definitely stay again someday!"

"We stayed in the basement room (1 queen and bunkbed) which was perfect for our family of 4 with a dog. The room opens up to a big outdoor area, so it's extremely easy to to take the dog out. There was a small fridge and microwave so we had everything we needed for a night's stay. The only thing to know is that you have to go down two flights of stairs to access the room which may be an issue for some. Would definitely stay here again!"

"We planned our trip specifically to stay at Nakoma. We love how accessible the hotel is! Staff were very accommodating and responsive. My husband and I had a great time biking and an even better time relaxing at the pool with the full bar and snacks!"

"Great place to crash if you're visiting the river, 10 minutes from Oregon Creek Park, which is an awesome spot to hit with kids. Pretty sparse surroundings and it's deep in the woods, so it's remote and private. Space itself is set up for 2 people, if you bring more people (wouldn't recommend more than 2 adults, 2 kids) you should bring an air mattress and your own bedding. It is a no frills space, so if there are items you consider essential to your world, bring them with you. It does have a powerful air conditioner which we were grateful for at the end of August. We'll be back, proximity to the river and the price can't be beat. Now that we know it's pretty rustic we will pack more essentials and be extra cozy there. "

"It was a lovely home - clean and easy to be in. Super spot in a comfortable and nice neighborhood. The property is very well kept. The furnishings were updated and pretty. The kitchen was nice and the fridge new and clean. The outdoor bedroom was great because it was a quiet space, but those who use it need to be able to navigate stairs and be okay with there being no attached bathroom. We enjoyed the deck and the cute lights, and the blooming flowers in the boxes. There is no air conditioner, but plenty of fans. We enjoyed our time there - it is a very light and nice home. "
