"We were very disappointed with the dining room for dinner. The tables looked like a cheap cafe; we were served someone else’s order and I was given a soup spoon with my dessert. The young staff were willing, but not well-trained. Our room was very pleasant but the tap at the basin wobbled and the water in the shower was so hot we had to abandon having a shower because we couldn’t turn it down. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay and the grounds were stunning."

"Welcome from staff in bar good, room confortable-no mirror for drying hair . Limited menu in bar for evening meals Great breakfast although the large room was a bit chilly and there were only two table to be served."

"Fantastic stay at the Allanton inn. Bar and restaurant is great, especially having a drink in the large outdoor area. Staff are very helpful and extremely friendly. The bed in our room was a little hard but it this is a minor issue for such a great stay. "
