We got the four semi-double bed room upstairs and it was so large - two separate bedrooms. a nice living and dining room area and then a separate traditional tatami room with low tables for dining or games or just sitting around to talk and spend time with each other. "Loved staying here for the cultural experience. It is very authentic - it makes you feel as if you have travelled back in time! There is a beautiful little garden and the o-furo is very relaxing. "It's a good place to go to experience staying in a traditional Japanese house. Very conveniently located near subway, convenience stores, restaurants, public baths and Gion. The kitchenette and laundry room had everything our family needed. Glad there were 2 toilets. Place was clean. It's a bit old with bits chipped off and the ground floor bedroom was rather cold and noisy so we all slept upstairs after the first night."

"+ve: This is very cheap when you can rent the whole house. Close to many tourist attractions (Kiyomizu Temple) Free early check in if requested. -ve: 2 levels house but the stairs are not inside the house. You need to go outside to go to another level. Not easy to find. No signage for the house. Luckily, we went there in the day time so that we can seek the help from the neighbours."

"TL;DR: Great location and room cleanliness/amenities ROOMS (5/5): ~Spacious rooms ~Safe, drawers, mini-fridge, and closet available ~Bathroom is spacious; toilet is separated by a door ~Water pressure was great ~Bathrooms provide toothbrushes, facial products, and toiletries ~TV has mirroring capabilities ~Beds and sheets were so comfortable SERVICE (4/5): ~Staff is very friendly ~They do not have a concierge service ~Daily house keeping comes around (instructions on how to get sheets and towels changed are on cards in the room) ~Check-in (in person) and check-out (electronic kiosk) was very easy FACILITIES (5/5): ~So close to the Kyoto station ~They have a gym (very small) ~Massage chairs are available for 300 Yen ~Public bath is available for certain hours (have soaking pool, showers, mist sauna, lockers, vanity area) ~Coin laundry available (there is a website where you can monitor the progress of your laundry unit) ~Vending machines available on site ~The breakfast buffet always smelled amazing, but we were unable to try it Overall, would definitely stay here again"
