Hilton Garden Inn Dana Point Doheny Beach

"My room had everything I needed to enjoy my three night stay. There was a generously sized mini fridge and a microwave in the room. There were drawers to put my clothes in. There was a desk with plugs on top to work. There was a very nice shower with good water pressure. All of the valet staff, especially CJ and Jon, were very helpful. I wanted to let the front desk staff know that there are no more bike rentals next to Doha Café across the street. A couple of employees at the hotel seemed to think it was still there. Just FYI. I was a little sad that when I first walked in the hotel, there was a male bartender behind the bar on the ground floor. I smiled at him, and he responded with “we’re closed.” I thought it would be more hospitable to reply with “good evening” especially since I had been in the hotel a few seconds. I clarified with him that I was just smiling at him and I did not want anything from him. The rooftop restaurant and bar are special with a gracious server, I did not eat or drink anything, but I looked at the menu and the prices seemed reasonable and it’s a lovely space with a fire pit and little café tables with a view of the ocean beyond the trees at Doheny State Park. There was a strong mechanical buzzing sound with a vibration coming from my bathroom area the entire time. It low key disrupted my nervous system. I don’t recommend 349 if that kind of noise bothers you. Overall, I recommend this hotel. It had everything for a comfortable stay."

"Great place and very friendly/communicative manager. The house was clean and well maintained. The listing photos don’t show the seawall/stairs (lack thereof). I think it would be an important detail to have updated that the decking and stairs have been washed away with the tides so there is no beach access. At least as of the time of writing this review. It looked as though in December of 2025 the house was undergoing seawall repairs which closed it, then the King Tides hit the coastline and caused a lot of damage including at this property. I would reach out to the manager if looking to book here and see where things are at in the repairs. Once the repairs are made, I’d absolutely recommend and would love to stay again. Great size house for the price, clean, positive staff, and had the things needed for a good vacation."
