"Overall, property is very nice. Elevated lighted fishing deck with seating for several (some facing water and more further back), The deck is on a canal with bay access for fish & a shrimp boat. On 1 side of canal there are 8 houses, several vacant lots & some type of facility on 1 end, with another building on the other end. Other side has marsh with bay beyond This house is almost centered along canal length. It is easy to cact across canal.All seven of us (5 adults & 2 kids) did try our luck at fishing a little saturday evening. The two kids (first time fishing, ages 4 & 5) got bored real quick and quit. My wife was bottom fishing and got hung up & lost her rigging on her first cast, stopped fishing. My son stopped fishing and went to heat pasta chicken meal supper. The remaining 3 of us fished for a while. My daughter was the only one to catch anything, about 6 inch Crocker. It was used to let my granddaughter real in a fish, she enjoyHad a slight issue at check-in. The cleaning lady had an issue with her sister being in Baytown hospital, and told us she did not realize the home had been renter, wasn’t on her schedule. She arrived around 5:00pm, therefore our 4:00pm check-in was delayed until just after 6:00 pm allowing her time to finish making-up beds with clean sheets and restocking bathrooms with clean towels and washcloths.9"

"Nice little house on the river in Matagorda. The house was the perfect size for the two of us. We enjoyed drinking coffee in the mornings on the back deck looking out over the river and marsh lands. The furiture was comfortable and the house was clean when we got there. We ended up sleeping on the futon in the livingroom because the portable a/c unit in the bedroom was super loud and the bed was super soft in the middle. The dock light was nice, but did attract alot of bigs when on. FYI- the water has a bit of a sulfur smell, so we used bottled water for coffee. Parking was good and having an outdoor sink was nice when fishing on the dock to rinse off my hands. We used the hose to rinse of fishing poles and feet when we came back from the beach. All in all a great place to stay for the price."
