"Very spacious and quiet. Functional and well equipped kitchen. Soft (too soft for us) mattresses. Welcome cookies were appreciated. No clear instructions to light the fireplace but the staff came to help. One dark issue (pardon the pun) is the poor lighting in the living/dining room. Not enough light to read for example. Bedside table lights were fine however."

"An old-world type of accommodation in every way. The decor is vintage in a homey way -- no overdone antique frills. The Lodge was originally a private home, and bedrooms while small, do have private bathrooms. The hostess was extremely friendly and chatty, and joined guests at breakfast time in the living room, where lodgers shared experiences over coffee and freshly baked muffins. While out of the mainstream touristy area of the town, it is only by a short walk to excellent restaurants, boat tours, lakeside strolls, and shops. A truly unique find!"
