"Arriving at the property via the small lanes not helped by GPS navigation led to very low expectations. Once inside the gate there was a surprise. The property is an ancient convent with a lovely Chaple. The grounds a wildly planted with many different and interesting ponds, large fountains, and plantings. "Simple, well-appointed, immaculate, and very friendly. The room I stayed in was totally upgraded with fresh tile, a very comfortable bed, and the little things (hair dryer, reading lamp, towel and coat hooks, etc.) I was traveling solo and spontaneously. It was a perfect place to have as a home-base from which to explore Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer proper, the bird sanctuary nearby, and other little inlets here and there. Camargue is a great place for biking and running. Our room was clean and nice. The staff gave us good advice on restaurants in town. The town is quite touristy, but the beaches stretches out endlessly and if you bike (or walk) a little you will find a nice and quiet spot. "The hotel is well situated to Arles, yet quiet and quaint. The pool and sitting area offered comfortable opportunity for outside relaxation. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
