"Although the booking is advertised as Hotel Punta Leona, it is actually for Apartamentos Arrecifes rather than a room in the main hotel. This should be made clearer, as the apartments are farther away and require transportation, an important detail for families with young children or elderly travelers or anyone requiring a wheelchair. We also experienced a 40-minute delay at check-in because the room was not ready (partially compensated with a late check-out). Upon arrival, the apartment did not appear thoroughly cleaned, beach towels were missing, and the room phone was not working. Additionally, check-in takes place at the main hotel, about a 5-minute drive away on a poorly maintained road. The apartment includes a kitchen but lacks basic cookware. Air conditioning is limited to the bedrooms, while the living area only has ceiling fans. On the positive side, there is a supermarket within a short 2-minute walk."

"The room and facilities were clean, my only complaint would be the area itself, out of control of the hotel. There was someone sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the hotel when we arrived and there really isn’t much to offer in the area. We only stopped for the night to catch the ferry the next day and thought that there would be more to see. "

"Wonderful lodge! Liked it so much we rearranged our itinerary to come back for another night. Super quiet & scenic. Really enjoyed the pool, deck, restaurant, and seeing birds, monkeys and iguanas. Arrived too late for pizza the first night, but stayed to have it for lunch and it truly was delicious. However, learned later that Costa Rica’s ban on feeding wildlife extends to private property and bird feeders, so it would better not to feed the birds at all, or at least farther from the deck so macaws don’t swoop in for human breakfast food. In order to have such a beautiful view in an unpopulated area, the location is remote. Make sure to do as much shopping for food, etc., as you can while on your way out. It takes too much time away from the trip if you don't, because traffic moves SLOWLY. 2. Hoyt is very responsive. Don't hesitate to reach out to him if there are any issues.3. Don't bother bringing too many clothes. You'll wear swimsuits most of the time.4. If you like ice cream, get your hands on some ChaRo brand ice cream (it's a Costa Rican brand) as soon as you can. We didn't discover it until late into the trip and we were sorry we didn't have more days to enjoy it. "

"We had such a wonderful experience at this home. The house was stunning and views were spectacular. The house staff, Carlos, Gina and Tatiana, were so welcoming and friendly throughout our time there. Their home-cooked meals were delicious, and they were very mindful of food allergies. The home was very clean and spacious along with multiple balconies for enjoying the sunsets. Our two families were so grateful we chose this location where we really felt like home. Communication prior to and during our trip was also fantastic, and assistance with coordinating transportation, excursions, and meals helped make our trip feel so carefree and relaxed. "
