"Great location and comfortable room with small kitchen and cooking supplies for preparing meals. Conveniently located near to the train station ( EDB ), about 8-9 minutes walk and right on the Royal mile. Groceries, coffee shops and restaurants are readily available nearby. Highly recommend and will definitely stay here again."

"Clean Room, lots of options for a Hostel. Great location on The Royal Mile. Walk to many Pubs, Restaurants, Parks, and shopping. Recommend Uber or Taxi if coming from train station as it is uphill and difficult to climb steep stairs with luggage in the rain. Also, the Lift at CODE was not working so we had to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs after uphill walk from train station. Good workout but may be difficult for some people."

"On arrival, the check in agent was friendly and helpful, allowing us early check in and advising us on the best transport options to reach the Consulate in the city centre. The room itself was clean and clearly part of the hotel that has been modernised, with new tiling in the bathroom. The view across the Edinburgh skyline, including the castle and churches, was excellent and a real highlight. However, after a whole day in the city we returned to the hotel. At around 10pm. Overwhelmed by the smell of guests eating disgusting McDonald’s in the guest lobby. We headed straight to our room, where we discovered that there was no hot water in the room. Breakfast the following morning was served in the restaurant managed by Jenny, who ran the service very well. The buffet selection was excellent, and I particularly enjoyed the Scottish touches such as haggis and potato scones. The only small disappointment was the absence of mushrooms, which would have completed the breakfast offering. Overall, my impression is that while parts of the hotel have been nicely modernised, the underlying infrastructure appears to be struggling, which significantly affected our stay"

"Location is goo right near the train station and royal mile. Room was clean and comfortable. Good value for the price. Breakfast was a good buffet spread but pretty expensive at 18 pounds per person. The elevators were down while we were there and we did see some questionable characters in the lobby at night, but for the elevator and stairs it required a room key. The door did close a bit slowly behind you when taking the stairs unless you pulled it shut. "
