"Lovely little independent hotel. Rooms were newly renovated and clean. Good location for exploring Durango and the surrounding area. Plenty of places to eat close by. Staff were very helpful and caring. Would highly recommend! "

"The historic district is a beautiful place to visit. The Strater hotel is at the very heart of it. The decor is fantastic. The saloon offers an added ambiance too the hotel. The restaurant was amazing. The staff were very friendly and pleasant . I Definitely recommend this hotel. "

"As lifelong residents of Colorado, this was our first time stopping in Pagosa Springs and our choice of The Springs Resort to stay will last as one of our best. We were so impressed with the new rooms and new spa area (even though we had no frame of reference). The 24 hour access to the pools was a godsend on our journey moving to Phoenix from Fort Collins. Certain things let us know that they are tweaking the new facilities, but the rooms were so comfortable and well-appointed and the staff could not have been more accommodating. This will become a "must stop" any time we travel the region in the future!"

"I only gave it 5 stars because nobody reads the 2-star reviews, which is what I would have given this hotel. You walk into the "lobby" and see all these "awards" on the wall and start to think that the 1960s-esque exterior is just a facade. Wrong. We got to the room, and it was like a studio apartment. Well, more like a studio of a studio apartment. Somehow, it seemed smaller than a Motel 6. The bed was meh. The pillows were BABY-sized pillows (seriously. They looked like little throw pillows from a couch.) You couldn't open the bathroom door all the way because the sink was in the way. The TV was about a 24" TV that was much too small to really see well while laying in bed. If you sat on the foot end of the bed, well, it was better. Our keys didn't work when we first arrived. Neither one. The room also smelled like cat pee, so we had to open the window for a couple of hours to try to get the smell out of there. It was nigh impossible to make a left-hand turn out of the parking lot due to the amount of traffic on the highway next to the hotel, which made a lot of noise. Anyway, I wouldn't stay here again. For what I paid for the place, I expected better than this."
