We were at the end of our Panama/Costa Rica trip and had actually just decided to cut it short because I was starting to feel sick. But we had this last hike to try out and I was just hoping both that I would feel well enough and also that our car would be able to make it back on the very steep gravel road back from the parking spot (after almost getting stuck around Monteverde earlier on the trip). As we’ve been getting used to we were first to arrive so we had this awesome place completely to ourselves for a little while in the morning before other tourists started to drop in. "We spent a month here and enjoyed every minute. Wonderful location to take day trips to waterfalls or beaches and then returning to peace and solitude. Regularly saw toucans (two kinds), hummingbirds (four kinds), coatimundi, agouti, parrots of all colors, and butterflies galore. Owner is quick to respond to questions and requests. Would definitely stay here again."
