"A wonderful stay. The morning service at the temple was a profound experience. The introduction to zazen was great, though Japanese speakers will get most out of this - ditto the lecture before morning service. The meals were excellent, and everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. All together, this short stay was a true highlight of my month in Japan. If you’re staying over a Tuesday, you should be aware that (all?) the restaurants in Eiheiji village seem to close on that day. I’m sure...

"お部屋の温泉は、快適でした。源泉かけ流しで油温も丁度良く、いつまでも入っていたくなるほど。料理も美味しく、小松トマトの入ったすき焼きの主役は牛だけで無く、むしろトマトの方だったのでは？と思ってしまいました。夕食の後、露天風呂に使っていると、目の前で打ち上げ花火が上がり始めました。初めての体験で、素晴らしい夜になりました。お米の地ビールも美味しかったです。"
