Our stay here was wonderful—the staff, the food, the onsen and of course the arrangement of the temple activities. If you are going to Eihiji I highly recommend a stay here.

Magical place. The Onsen and Meals were Amazing. The Activities are a once in a lifetime. Unfortunately the only view from rooms is buildings, wish there was a garden view or for sitting and soaking in the serenity.

A wonderful stay. The morning service at the temple was a profound experience. The introduction to zazen was great, though Japanese speakers will get most out of this - ditto the lecture before morning service. The meals were excellent, and everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful. All together, this short stay was a true highlight of my month in Japan.
If you’re staying over a Tuesday, you should be aware that (all?) the restaurants in Eiheiji village seem to close on that day. I’m sure the concierge at the hotel will be able to advise on where to get lunch.
