"Very unique hotel and area. Be prepared as it is a bit hilly and the cobble stones are slippery when even mildly wet. The staff are awesome especially the welcome desk and the little restaurant staff. Plenty of eating areas around the hotel."

"First time to Lisbon and just happened to end up in this hotel in the Alfama (old town). At first it seemed a bit inconvenient..but turned out to be the best! Great little restaurant a 2 minute walk away…out of the tourist area. Would definitely recommend "

"Memmo Alfama is a charming boutique hotel in a great historical area of Lisbon. The staff welcomed us warmly on arrival via Uber to the front door. A quick tour of the property was provided by our hostess who exhibited great enthusiasm for the hotel, its architecture, the convenient location, the neighborhood, and the available amenities offered. The view from the terrace encouraged exploration of this unique area of Lisbon. A short walk on a cobblestone street led to the Main Street where local shops provided great opportunity to purchase authentic Portuguese-made products suggested by our hostess in the hotel lobby. I walked out of one shop with an in- country manufactured bedspread loomed in traditional patterns. The day ended eating pasta in a little neighborhood restaurant after walking steep hills with great overlooks of the Tagus River! Can’t say enough about this wonderful hotel!"

"The staff was super friendly and made some great recommendations for us for dining. I have to say after reading some of the bad reviews I was a bit worried about staying there. However, the room was quiet and all the staff including cleaning staff were lovely people. I would stay here again as it is the perfect location for Lisbon. Next door is a great fado restaurant. It’s across the street from the St George Cadethral and 5’minites from the castle. "

"We stayed in the terrace suite, Santa Catarina. The view was literally the best view in Lisbon and we didn’t want to leave the patio. The staff was amazing and they took care of the luggage, but still a bit of up and down and not great if you have mobility issues. Only drawback was 5-6 flights of stairs and no elevator. Service was fantastic"
