"The lobby and restaurant/bar areas are very nice and have been well updated. Staff was very polite and helpful. It is in a good location for sightseeing. But, they REALLY need to change their signature scent that hits you when you first walk in. NOT pleasant at all. The rooms are very clean but have not been updated in a very, very long time. "The room was very small, and the bigger problem is that it gets extremely hot during the day. There's no air conditioning, and the windows only open partway, so there's no way to cool the room down or get proper airflow. I didn't sleep well the whole stay. Housekeeping was also a letdown — the towels had stains on them and hair, so I ended up drying myself with napkins. That's not something you expect at any price point. "Our room was facing the street. We stayed a few nights and every night (weekend and weekdays) there was street racing through the night, someone yelling at 2am outside, always lots of commotion and noise. This area is too loud. The "sound proof" windows did not help and neither did the noise filtering curtains. Maybe we weren't staying in a good part of London."
