"The hotel was very good very clean and suitably situated for our weekend. Breakfast was excellent! The only bad point was that the swimming pool was closed all weekend and on the hottest weekend of the year and with 2 children it was a major issue! We would’ve stayed at a different hotel with a pool if we knew, the hotel should’ve emailed me before we got there to say but nothing was mentioned until I’d paid for our stay!"

"We had four nights in the De La Danza suite( a disco/nightclub Ibiza theme. It has large balcony/lounge/bedroom 2 TVs ( 1 with Sky ) and very large en-suite. Sep shower for two and a very deep bath with hand held rinse. Over designed funky theme, lacking in practical points. Takes couple of days to work out lighting options. Check in was quick and we were upgraded to a larger room at the back of the hotel on the 4th floor as requested.(thank you for that) Parking is shockingly expensive in Brighton; the hotel was quoted at £30 per night so we used the adjacent carpark for £25/ night. "Amazing stay for my partners birthday. Room was very well presented and hotel offered to provide flowers to celebrate and even a happy birthday message written in chocolate! Absolutely recommend the rooms with a sea view, it really doesn’t disappoint at all! The larger rooms are well worth it, tons of extra space and let you really appreciate the design of the rooms. Spa is absolutely worth the money, it was £10pp per stay when we went, and it was brilliant. Restaurant is downstairs and offers...

"We’ve stayed at the Old Ship several times, as it tends to be the best value for money. We love the central sea front location (and are prepared to put up with a bit of city noise… the complimentary ear plugs are a nice touch), sea views are well worth paying a bit extra for, and we even enjoy the 100 year old lift …. on the occasional time it arrives before we opt for the stairs instead (it is described optimistically as ‘a bit slow’). Very pleasant staff too. Looking forward to our next stay. "

"Lovely old building and the staff are wonderful. I found it very noisy, my room overlooked a car park and with no double glazing I was woken by people leaving and the bottle bank being emptied before 7am. "

"Other reviews had some negative remarks about it being noisy, old and such, therefore I had some reservations prior to our arrival, however, I was pleasantly surprised. The establishment is an older building and with this comes thin walls, outdated fixtures and other bits but overall it was a comfortable stay. The building had a wonderful charm and had a pub on one side that became lively in the evening and yes, cause some noise but being from the city, nothing that would cause me not to be able...

"Great hostel! I really love the lounge area! It was chill and quiet and had a wonderful coffee shop vibe. I enjoyed my stay; everything was great. The internet was a bit unsteady on the upper floors, but other than that, I'd stay again for sure."
