"We upgraded to a superior room. Enjoyed the fridge and contents, coffee machine, robes, slippers etc. The decor was nice however there were stains on the curtains and the bathroom door had a chunk of wood out of it which didn't leave the best impression especially as it was an upgraded room #332. We used the leisure facilities. The pool was immaculate, however neither the sauna nor steam room were working (Nov 26) which spoilt it for us. The first night we dined in the restaurant and the...

"Great stay many thanks. Nice property but please keep it refurbed and up to date. Needs aircon for the summer, fans good but too hot as windows cannot be fully opened. Great service in the bar/restaurant but needs Guinness back rather than Caffreys Stout! Will miss the lamb skewers from new menu but the new sticky chicken ones are also good. That said a tad less bbq sauce would be ideal."

"Helpful friendly staff"

"Good food and drink at the pub that is separate from the accommodation. Slight problem on check in as they had given us a double room instead of a twin, despite sending an email prior to arrival requesting a twin. Staff shortages meant it was a while before the bed situation was sorted but we were in the bar by then so not really an issue. The receptionist was apologetic and keen to resolve the issue so bonus points to her."

"The hotel is in a good location and nearby are loads of places to eat The disappointing thinks we're prior to booking I mentioned my wife had a disability and would needs walk in shower When I went to check in that had not been actioned and had to be moved The room for someone with a disability was so far from reception a long walk The room itself was like a prison cell 1 small window you could not opening to get some air into the room"

"Room was clean and comfortable, although there was nowhere to hang coats/clothes (there was no hanging rail). The pedestrian route to the restaurant was a bit dark in places. Generally a good overall stay."

"The staff was fantastic; they kept the rooms really clean."

"Cute lodge with friendly staff! Short walk to Sherwood Forest."

"Another amazing stay at Ye Old bell ❤️"

"A very friendly welcome and staff were always ready to help my partially disabled wife. The meals were excellent and well planned. The hotel was very welcoming and felt homely with such Georgian/ Victorian style ."

"The duvet cover was not fresh, I called the dedicated telephone line at 19.26 to request a fresh duvet cover or at least a bed sheet to cover it, an hour and a half later after a series of phone calls back and forward I was told that nothing can be done. The property is unsupervised and there's no way to contact management in the evening and a telephone assistant is not based in the UK. The room is tired, the classes in the bathroom are not clean, bedding needs to be undated, a door stopper is...

"The hotel rooms are very dated and the parking at the hotel isn’t free"
