The room was clean the bed was comfortable but the shower area needed major repair. The flush button on the toilet was broken, the soap dispenser was broken and the shower doors didn't meet. The door into the room was difficult to unlock.
The Hotel needed updating generally.

Thank you I enjoyed my stay very much. It would’ve been nice to have mugs in the bedroom to make a lovely mug full of tea and also a couple of biscuits would be nice, but thank you for keeping it nice and warm. It was lovely and quiet. I didn’t have the breakfast with you so can’t comment on that. Sherry met me and booked me in when I arrived charming lady. Thank you

Stay for 2 nights
Hotel a little dated but the staff certainly made up for that
Breakfast was disappointing
We used to take our children here years ago on riverside trips and were really pleased by our four night stay. Nice clean room with very big bed, relaxing pub, good food and a quiet location with plenty of free parking space. Staff are nice and helpful. We'll be back.
We were pleased with our stay. We only stayed for a night. The food was nice, the bar/restaurant was busy but we still got our food reasonably fast. The view was beautiful. Shame we had no time to walk around. It was easy to find and there was plenty of parking.

Nice stay at the Unicorn. Food was tasty.
The bathroom wasnt the cleanest- hairs in the bath!
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
The place could do with a revamp- starting to look tired.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking to both front and rear. Amazing views of the river from some of the rooms. Lovely walk along the river nearby.
Rooms are clean and tidy. Some of the fixtures and fittings could do with being replaced but everything worked.

After mentioning an issue with the room first allocated to us upon check-in, we were directed to another room, it was excellent… very spacious, view of the river, very clean and lovely bathroom. We had an excellent night sleep in a huge king size bed, it was lovely and quiet especially after closing time.
Looking back at what time we checked in, we could’ve timed it better because it was in the middle of food service in the restaurant and it was very busy, so there was a bit of a wait to check in as staff were extra busy.
At breakfast the food options on the continental was excellent and a plentiful supply and came included with the cooked breakfast.
Very, very warm welcome from the staff. Just what I needed after a long drive. Good reasonable prices for good beer and excellent evening meal. Breakfast was the icing on the cake.
I will be back!
Firstly, the beds were incredibly comfortable and I had the best nights sleep! Unfortunately the hotel itself is in need of some repair and maintenance so it looks very tired and dated. The place was very busy but only had 3 staff which meant a long wait for drinks and food. The area in which the hotel is situated was beautiful and the canal stunning.
Good sized room and the bed was huge. The rooms are above the bar area which was fine as its wasn't too noisy. The car parking is easy as there is loads of space. I used this location as it was a short drive to the Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. the kitchens close about 8:30 ish so if you are late back for food I can recommend the Indian about 100mtrs down the road.
All in all a nice location for a few days away
