"We hired garden view rooms, the balcony is being refurbished so we had views of scaffolding, the windows would not open and it was a very hot day and night. The air con unit and fan worked ok. It would have been good to be forewarned of what to expect rather than just that we’re maintenance works. It was a surprise for my Fathers 81st birthday and it was sad that the room was hit and surrounded by scaffolding"

"Our stay was very disappointing despite the attractive grounds. Check in told us nothing. Room was not serviced and had a constant buzzing from somewhere. No breakfast chef on second morning so no cooked breakfast. Cold buffet extremely basic. Restaurant not open either night so had to eat out. Felt empty of guests so bar very uninviting.Didn't discover lounge until second day and then water damaged ceiling and a filthy carpet."
