"The location of this hotel is wonderful.
Gardens directly infront, and town and amenities all close by.
The food was excellent, and the outside eating terrace was a lovely area.
Some of the outside furniture is in need of replacing though.
Some staff were more welcoming and pleasant than others. And as is often the case, there were occasions when the hotel seemed short staffed.
Overall, we were happy with this hotel and would be happy to stay again."
"Room was very hot, no aircon, there was a fan, but in this extremely hot weather not really sufficient. Lovely room. Beautiful hotel. Charge service on bar drinks at 12.5% seems rather expensive when they come to nearly as much as the drinks itself "
"Very nice breakfast and hotel staff really friendly and helpful.
Rooms nice and clean although building itself seems a bit old with creaking floors. The swimming pool and jacuzzi were a nice addition although in need of a revamp. But overall excellent value for money"

"Breakfast was a bit hit and miss, being shown to a table which wasn’t ready or cleared on both mornings. The first morning, no one actually came and cleared the table so we had to find one ourselves!"
"The room is a little dated but very comfortable. I would stay here again. It is close enough for a short walk to most of the things you may want to see in town. The bar is good as well."

Hotel bar was a disaster zone ice making machine wasn’t working according to the staff and soft drinks dispenser not working either.
The hotel is in a poor state avoid and go to the Woodford or Chesford it’s the same price and nicer. We had a poor 3 day stay complete waste af money and will never go back."
"Bed is Stiffer than concrete. And hotel smells like food all day. And it is hot!… staff was great and helpful. Unfortunately room did not look like the pictures online for my reservation."
"We had a delicious afternoon tea, with an amazing view from the bar area. The room was extremely comfortable and, in spite of the very hot weather, we both slept well. My only criticism would be that the bath was very deep and difficult to get into to use the shower."
