"The team at the property were ALL excellent - thank you. The property is accessed via an unmade road which was hard work for our small hire car - but because it was a hire car it made it through. The facilities are good. I tried the canopy walk, river slide, zip line and hot springs, all of which were very good. The evening meals we had were of a high standard, especially considering that all the food has to be transported a long way. The breakfast was good ( but didn’t live up to the standard of the evening meals). We were in a hacienda and the walls are very thin. We had a great two days and would highly recommend the facility."

"We loved staying at Canon de La Vieja Lodge for our first few nights in Costa Rica. It was a short distance from the airport and close to the National Park. Lots to explore in the area. The property had many activities to enjoy. Even though the property is popular with tour groups we never felt it was crowded and always found quiet areas to enjoy by ourselves. We greatly appreciated the hot water pools down by the river as well as the main pool with it's swim up bar. Highly recommend this Lodge. Keep in mind it has an eco lodge vibe. There are many animals as well as insects. "

"Beautiful property- stayed 3 nights at a dome tent with my 7 year old- it was very modern and well equipped. Staff are great and we enjoyed the zip lining and horseback rides while at the ranch. All were extremely convenient to book during our stay- available on an hours notice. Food was excellent and traditional and the ladies in the kitchen working at the ranch were amazing. If you are looking to do a horse back ride and zip line in Costa Rica I would highly recommend staying night or so and doing the activities while enjoying the property. It’s a better day than booking a tour from the coast if you have a car IMO, simply because you have more time to enjoy nature and generally more private zip lining and horseback riding so you could accomplish more. Our stay was mid March 2025. Activity prices were reasonable as was the stay. "

"Nicely decorated simple cabins with a true nature feel. Host was very welcoming and helpful. Loved the little details like the viewing outpost. Out of the main tourist paths which is what I was looking for. "

"Beautiful property with so much to do on the grounds. We were traveling with two infants and were able to do a few different lakes right from the resort. The pool was nice and the staff were wonderful. My only criticism is there is only one restaurant with the same menu every day and although it is a large selection on the menu, there really isn’t anywhere else to eat close by if you don’t have a car as this is a secluded location. If the restaurant did different theme nights or offered a different menu each night, it might make it a little bit more exciting to eat in the same place for multiple nights in a row."
