"Our room was delightful and would have rated 5/5 if considered in isolation. However our 80 year old travelling companions who arrived around 7pm in the evening were told that even though they had booked and prepaid 6 months previously that the hotel was fully booked. They were shunted to an adjoining house and given an attic room accessed by an extremely steep staircase effectively a ladder. Compared to our room in the hotel itself, it was spartan. So that was disappointing and left a bad taste...

"I've been to many many fine hotels. Charmante is #1. It was a "pinch me" experience. And somehow the staff were just as wonderful as the property! Seriously, this place is worth traveling for just to stay at. The room, the 2nd floor coffee lounge (unreal), the 4th floor speakeasy, the restaurant, the art, the decor. Each was a 10/10."

"Ended up not staying there. Room was in the 8th floor elevator only went to the 6th floor. Didn’t have 2 beds and could get keys as their system was broken so front staff let us in the room. We had no way to leave and return. Found a different place to stay."

"Just a 5 minute walk from the Fisktorget, the location is great. Staff very helpful, breakfast very good. They have a luggage store if you need to leave your bags after checking out. Also reception doubles as a bar so you can have a night cap before turning in for the day. Kettle and coffee/tea in the room."

"Great location and the room was clean, well stocked and spacious!! However, not well insulated from noise. We were there on a weekend and it was extremely difficult to sleep with the nightclub blasting music until 3am, loud machinery sounds outside our door."

Flaws in self check in concept resulting in me not receiving key safe codes by email, requiring telephone calls to help desk, who were quite helpful, also none operation of some room lights and sockets only remedied by housekeeping staff on second day"
