"We were given an upgrade to larger room which was ok..but lots of stairs , as third floor and both over 60 lol but appreciated the extra space .
Hotel was in good place for visting other places.
The meal we had in the restaurant was yummy , i had the fish and chips and hubby had the burger.
But breakfast not so good, bacon was hard as was streaky and it was a mix for scrambled egg which was not very nice , tin mushrooms and tomatoes needed cooking longer and sausage and hash brown was ok and...
"The room especially the bed was very dirty. There was nobody at reception whenever we came in, and if we needed something it was usually a 20 minute or longer wait. We ended up running around the building to find the reception staff."
"Power went off in the room when I put the kettle on. Water was only lukewarm but we were only there one night so we weren’t too bothered. We found our own 24 hr parking as we had read poor reviews about the underground parking at the hotel and you had to pay extra for the parking anyway. Would we stay again - I don’t think so.!"
"When we booked the room through Expedia it said double or twin, we requested twin beds but on arrival were given a double bed room. This room is in the annex building and was very tired looking and the carpet very dirty. The bottom of the bed did not have a cover over the box spring.
The hotel was unable to accommodate us with twin beds so we had to upgrade to another room costing an extra 86 pounds. The staff was helpful in doing this .
This room was slightly better than the annex room but...
"The Dial House is located right in the heart of Bourton-on-the-Water, an easy walk to everything. Our room was in the old building and was comfortable. The bath had an attractive large tub, but only a hand-held for a shower. There was plenty of hot water. Parking was plentiful and easy to access. Guests are asked to only enter through the back door of the building to not disturb dining customers. That was a little strange and inconvenient, but not a major concern.
We had three concerns. ...
"Staff were friendly and helpful.
The room and hotel area was dated and rough round the edges but clean.
My bed had a dent down the centre so prominent it felt like I was sleeping in a bowl.
Over all, for the location it was good value for money."
