"I'm house-hunting in Hudson, so my wife and I have stayed in a few other hotels and B&Bs there. However, one night in Pocketbook and I'll definitely continue booking there. I don't understand the complaints about the noise or rude staff, becauee we experienced the exact opposite. The staff were warm & welcoming, and very friendly. Overnight, it was peaceful and quiet. "Came up here for a weekend in July and had a great stay! We were bumped up to a studio room that was very spacious and had a full kitchen (including a stove and oven!) with dishes, mixing bowls, etc. The pool was super warm (although I wish the pool/hot tub hours ran later than 10pm) and the staff were all very friendly. We had dinner at Van Winkle on our first night and it was delicious."

"AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. The 10 of 10 reviews on Expedia have to be fake!!!!! This hotel at one time might have deserved a decent rating but those days are not the current situation. The hotel corridors smell of animal feces and there is also a strong smell of mold. Vagrants were congregated on the front (no longer functioning) hotel entrance and around the building. The front desk is not continually staffed which eliminates and possibility of building security and the elevator does not limit...
