"Staff very rude"

"Fairly average but decent for price. Staff friendly enough but did not explain anything. Suppose they thought it was self explanatory that room key was also key for front door; and to help ourselves to table and food at breakfast. Comfortable bed. Room snug, cosy, quiet and clean. Same for bathroom. Snib removed from Yale lock in bedroom so could not lock ourselves in overnight, which was disconcerting (imagine it is so management can access). Breakfast luke warm but fine. Fine for price and for...

"The hotel is in a great location, all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was clean, we didn’t have any room service as hadn’t noticed the service my room sign on the back of the do not disturb sign. All good we would go again."

"A lovely stay, clean and chilled. I was impressed by how security conscious they were, the door was locked at 6pm. Thank you"

"Arrived at 9.00 Fri evening t He couldn't find any record of my booking, even after showing booking confirmation and reference. The place had a musty smell and a unclean feel to it. It looks as if there has been no attempts of upkeep at the property for years. I did not stay and found somewhere else to stay"

"The hotel was really a hostel and did not match up with images on their website. We were expecting to be staying in a country house hotel not a youth hostel. The only facility we had was wifi. The room was clean but very basic with no ability to make ourselves a tea or coffee without walking down two flights of very steep steps to the kitchen which was a health and safety nightmare - no idea why they could not have put a tea/ coffee station on the top floor. There was no television...

"For the price can't complain as you also get free parking. The room was clean and tidy with clear instructions as to how to access the room key. The restaurant is dog friendly also and food delicious. Just bear in mind it can be noisy in the room until the restaurant closes but not a massive issue."

"We had a great stay. We were warmly welcomed and our room with bathroom was a good size and really clean. The bed was perfect. Breakfast was fantastic and we were really well looked after. Location is great for the sea front, bars, shops and bus and train station. Highly recommended."

"Fantastic location overlooking the hilltop sea views. Last minute overnight booking, with only the rear looking room available (would like to try the sea view rooms next time). Room was immaculately clean with a fan, iron (and board), hairdryer, microwave, toaster, fridge and kettle (also tea, coffee and milk, that you can have refilled if you need more). Staff were absolutely fantastic from the time we checked in to when we left. Bar and food area downstairs (also plenty of outdoor seating). I...

"A fabulous little traditional guest house where the personal service was fantastic. I’d read all about Hans in the reviews and thought it must be too good to be true but was very pleasantly surprised to find it to be accurate. Couldn’t have helped more, really interesting to talk to and the freshly cooked breakfast was superb! We’ll definitely be back!"

"A fantastic, spacious hotel. I couldn't believe the size of my room! The en suite was immaculate and the mini fridge with water and milk provided was a lovely touch. The manager, Louise, is lovely to deal with and makes the place feel like a home from home. I am booking for a second time this month. The car park on site is a huge bonus - no driving up and down the street looking for a space. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Torquay."

"Worst hotel I have EVER been in ! DO NOT go anywhere near it !"

"I booked a last minute one night stay. A very convenient location for staying just off the M5. The room was very nicely furnished. The bed was very comfortable. The shower powerful and warm. Dinner in the pub was delicious and a good range of drinks offerings. Definitely recommend. Staff were also friendly and helpful."

"Stayed for 5 nights, have stayed before. Guesthouse 2 minute walk to front. Room had small fridge and microwave which was ideal for me, was advised private bathroom but was sharing with 2 others, not happy about that but otherwise a lovely stay. Marina very helpful on arrival and chatty throughout stay. I would return."

"Friendly hosts, and an excellent location close to the station but also close to the sea. Very quiet."
