A "must eat" when traveling around New Zealand... ... the PIE!! They are handheld pies consisting of a thick pie crust on the bottom (no pie tins here!) and a flaky top and meat & gravy in the middle. My faves are butter chicken pies & the traditional steak & mushroom pie. Ever kiwi seems to have a favourite bakery that sells pies. They go for around $3NZD a pop and are freakin' amazing any time of the day.
