"Beautiful on the surface but fundamentally flawed. The pool was empty and non- operational with no pre-advice this was the case. Offers to move to a sister hotel and vague compensation suggestions do not make up for a diabolical error of communication. We requested an upgrade and only got it through my Expedia status. The room while lovely to look at had no bathroom amenities, a broken sliding door, blocked toilet and frayed towels. Abrupt unfriendly staff with the odd exception . Weird location...

"No think about it just book it. The staff and owner were great. They are expanding to make it even better. Underwater gym, sound healing classes and full spa coming in November. I will be retuning. This was my first time in Mexico and I made a great choice in starting at Kan Tulum. The grounds were even prettier in person. We rented e-bikes and got hurt and the staff once they heard were so concerned and attentive asking daily about our progress. This place was worth every penny."

Both of the ladies that worked the front desk were wonderful in helping us out with several things, such as recommendations for restaurants, coffee shops, and most importantly for us, upon checking out, ordered us a taxi to our next destination and negotiated a set price for us to pay. If you’ve done any research regarding Tulum taxis, then you’ve heard the horror stories. We would definitely consider a return to this hotel for another visit in the future. "
