"It’s a little bit dated in some parts. The rooms could do with a modern upgrade, digital TVs with Netflix and YouTube streaming for example. The showers were really poor in water power and dribbled. The pillows were pretty flat and not too comfortable. But the staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty but that toaster was screeching in the background and made it uncomfortable to remain too long in the dining area."

"Great stay at the King Charles Hotel (Gillingham). Very helpful and friendly staff and clean & comfortable room. The dining room area was very welcoming and the food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Very good value for money. Thank you."

"Was basic but clean. Busy in public areas. Room service was slow and food cold when it arrived. Room are not well soundproof I could hear the man in the room next door talking on his phone! "

"Was informed on check-in that food in the restaurant was being served until 21.30, came down at 20.30 to be informed that the kitchen was closed and but luckily there was a 24hr menu available, so ordered off that, starter I found to be very poor as it was pate which was probably the smallest piece of pate i have ever seen and would only just cover the toast provided, the rest of the plate was just filled with lettuce to make it look a lot. The lady who eventually served was helpful in find the night time menu and took my order and opened up a tab on my room, but when I went up to the bar again to order another drink was then informed that I should have pre-authorised a credit card to be able to order food on the room, again was not informed this upon check in or when ordered the food initially. Whilst eating my food also the staff was moving furniture around and setting up the hoover for cleaning which was very off putting tbh. I also found the bed to be to soft and did not sleep very well. The Hot water pressure was also very low and therefore the shower was more of a trickle than a shower."

"Great position, sunny afternoon siting lakeside was wonderful. The hotel was a little tired but clean. Breakfast was horrendous, went down at 9:30 ( breakfast finished at 10:30) and didn’t actually receive by cooked breakfast until 10:45, 1.5 hours for a very basic breakfast is just not acceptable. I would image the kitchen being under resourced, plenty of serving staff, just nothing coming out."

"A great little hotel with very clean rooms and in a quiet location. There is an inexpensive public car park very close to the hotel. Would definitely recommend staying here."

"We were late for breakfast but there was still a full choice of tasty wholesome food available . Bed very comfortable . Room clean and tidy. Staff were smiley and helpful where necessary. Great location for motorway links etc yet no traffic noise . The only negative experience we had was the car park arrangements charging £5 per night and feeling worried about being fined for overstay / incorrect parking etc. We will look elsewhere on our next visit to Chatham . "
