The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa

The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa

8/10 Good
"This is a beautiful property. We had a lovely time enjoying the relaxing, peaceful atmosphere. We checked in quickly, but experienced a few disappointments. The valet was quick to assist and the check-in desk went smoothly. Our room, unfortunately, was not up to par. There was hair on the sheets, toilet, floor, tub, and the tub drain was full of hair. There was popcorn on the carpet, the smoke detector was barely hanging from the ceiling by 1 screw, and there was a window ac unit installed which caused the blinds to be removed leaving no shade on the window. I called the front desk and waited about 5 minutes on the phone to be told I would be met by someone and assisted to another room. We waited 20 minutes and had to call down again for someone. It was after 10pm at this point and we were very tired. The next room was better but there was hair on the toilet, floor, and tub. I expected it would be perfect after voicing complaints from the first room. We decided to unpack and get to sleep as we figured a 3rd room would probably be more of the same. Besides the room issue, everything else was near perfection. We really enjoyed the food, amenities, & exploring the property. Wish the zip line was open. The guided Gorge Hike was absolutely beautiful, worth the money, and the guide was an absolute wealth of knowledge and such a delight. All of the staff were courteous, attentive, and friendly. I highly suggest a visit to this gem. We would love to visit again some day."

"This is a very quaint property tucked into the West Virginia countryside. I stayed there while visiting the state fair in Lewisburg. It is about an hour and fifteen minutes away, but worth the drive because inns are hard to find that are closer during the fair. There is a lot to do in the area around the property in its own right! Cass Railroad is less than a half hour away and so is the Green Bank Observatory. The latter is a surprising find in the region for space enthusiasts."

The Tannery! Private Dipping Pool In The Warm Springs Stream! Pet Friendly!

10/10 Excellent
"This place was great if you are bringing dogs (but watch out since the road is right by the house so need to keep them on the leash while in the back yard) and for the warm water springs creek right in the back yard, short walk from back porch!!! It's the very 1st house from the warm springs pools along the creek so the water pools in the back yard are still warm. We went to the pools everyday but also chilled in the small pools in the back yard daily. Even at 11 pm the water was warm in July when the air temps are in mid 60's. The house layout is great with both porches where the dogs hung out. Living room/kitchen area is a bit small but with dogs on the porches and just 2 of us, it was fine. Kitchen has most stuff one needs. We usually bring our own non-teflon pots and pans as you never know what you will get in rentals. If you are health freaks like us, I suggest bring your own. Same for dishes soap and shower gels as whats provided is generic brands. The convince stores in the area don't have many options so definitely good to bring necessary items with you. Restaurants in the area are awesome options too. As some reviews have stated that living room furniture and the beds are on the hard side but it wasn't terrible where we couldn't sleep. On the contrary, slept like babies. Overall we did enjoy our stay and even stayed one day extra, with which the hosts were very accommodating. Communication with them was easy and they gave us many tips."
