Florence was our second stop on a 3 week trip to Italy. We stayed here for 6 nights from Sept. 15 - 20. Massimo was very welcoming and gave us some good restaurant recommendations and directions for public transportation. And, his English is excellent!
Garage parking is also available which was very important to us since we arrived by car, however, I would not recommend driving since Florence is under construction; using public transportation or walking is very easy and convenient. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the Duomo but again, public transportation options are available. We used taxi’s which I found very convenient.
The apartment is in a very quiet area of Florence but fairly close to the city center. Located on the 6th floor the elevator, accessible from the garage, is a necessity and roomy enough for two with luggage.
Massimo’s home is quiet and nicely decorated with many nice pieces, however, it is evident he lives there at least part-time as many of his personal items were in the closet and dresser drawers.
My only complaint was although it was stated bathtub/shower, the shower was a hand-held piece with no place to hang the hand-held so unless you are traveling with a companion who is happy to hold the shower head it’s a little inconvenient to shower. If you are a bath person, all is well.
Air conditioning and heat are guest controlled and the washing machine is a plus. We found a laundromat near-by for drying.
Everything worked well and the wifi was reliable.
