Room faced the front of the property and had a great view. Very eco friendly and offered free equipment use for paddle boarding in the bay across the street. "it’s a nice location, but there’s a lot of construction going on not only in the surrounding landscape but also inside the hotel. There’s a resort fee being charged every day and it’s really just a simple pool. Nothing fancy I wouldn’t say it’s really a resort. A resort really does have quite a few other amenities. "Good value budget hotel right on the bay in Hilo. The property is quite old, showing wear but room was clean, comfortable with fresh towels, shampoo etc, all the basics you need. It's classic old school ceiling fan and air vents rather than AC. There is occassion airport noise. Hilos airport is close to town so you can hear it as many locations, but airport isnt that busy. "We had an enjoyable stay, we were received by Kelly with fresh delicious muffins, the house was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, each day was a different menu with fresh baked muffins, fresh fruit, juice, coffee or late and attention to detail. Kelly was very hospitable and she made us feel like home. I recommend a stay here "

"Love this place, we’ve stayed here repeatedly for years and it simply gorgeous! Had a little trouble with the kayak rental though. There wasn’t an attendant or anyone to help with getting the kayaks in or out of the water. Sliced up my toe pretty good trying to drag the damn things out of the water. Luckily there were some other guests to help!"
