"Lovely home-y hotel in York. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. Room is clean, only deducted a star because there is some up- keeping that can be done (a bit of peeling wallpaper, etc). Very well located, about a 6 minute walk from the train station and right in the centre of the old town. Breakfast included in the room rate was great."

"Definitely a 5 star B&B. Lovely big room with terrace seating outside, overlooking the sheep and guinea fowl in the fields. Loads of parking. Very clean and well presented. The owners have pretty much thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and feel homely. Breakfast, with loads of choice, is cooked freshly to order in the area that serves as a bistro on several evenings in the week. "Had a nice stay for our anniversary. Good suggestions for local walks. Wine and food was nice. It was a little disappointing that they did not do anything to mark our 10 year wedding anniversary and we had put a note on our booking. Drinks are quite expensive £6.50 for a pint/£10 for prosseco glass"
"Location is great - short walk into town and just across the road is a lovely woodland for walks in the shadow of the castle and access to the North York’s Moors is very close. Accommodation layout really good for a social gathering - very clean and well equipped including books and games etc
