"Staff on front desk & restaurant were lovely; neither tv in our room worked & when asked housekeeping if anyone could help she got another 2 of her team to come check then neither of them could help us"
"Regrettably our room number 6. Did not smell nice. It had the smell of old wet trainers. We did mention it and a room diffuser was turned on. Some of the fixtures and fitting were falling apart. The shower was head was not appropriate for the size of the shower causing flooding. The staff were lovely and theroom was clean."
"Of course the setting is the main attraction. The hotel is is a beautiful, grand, rural home, set by the lake, so its location and views are exceptional.
The hotel is a bit quirky and creaky as you would expect but some areas are tired and not as clean as they could be, sadly.
The staff were polite and efficent enough but not especially engaging. That said we didnt really need anything, so our interactions were limited"

"We just loved our stay here at Augill Castle. It was like being in a movie. Quirky and charming, beautiful and peaceful. We enjoyed wine in the sitting room, a lovely dinner and breakfast. Our room was so beautiful, a very comfortable bed, and the hosts and staff were all so lovely. A very memorable stay!"

"The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...
"Great parking. We didn’t realise when we booked that the pub would shut at 8 pm on the Sunday which was disappointing but they gave us a key to enter the building and to come and go as we wanted. The bedroom was comfortable and the breakfast was very nice."
