"Basic double courtyard rooms. Spacious rooms but standard double beds - though from the indentations on the carpet in mine, a Queen or King resided there before. Even so, the base "flat" sheets did not fit the mattress to the head exposing no protector. Total lack of information in my room (27) that was there in our daughter's (25) regarding wifi access and other info. I had to wash a tea cup in my room that had a sticky residue at the bottom of it and clear lip residue around the rim. No mixer...
"Castle itself is great. The annexe rooms are very small, basic. Bathroom again is tiny and cramped. Its a shower /bath which if mobility issues would be hard to get in and out. Shower ran at lukewarm . Would be better to rip out and install standing walking shower. Rooms all need a full refurb."
"The Buck Inn is in a prime central location on a picturesque street. I think some of the recent reviews are unfair. Richmond is an expensive town and most places charge £160 to £180 per night. The Buck Inn charges £85 a night for a double and that includes a very good breakfast. The room is a large en-suite with tea/coffee/hot chocolate facilities and a fair sized tv. Good quality toiletries are provided. The bedding is clean and very good quality and the bed is comfortable. The downsides are...
"Room was excellent with great shower. Evening meal from the restaurant menu was very good.
Continental style breakfast was served to the room in a basket hamper.
An enjoyable stay overall"
"If you're a all creatures great and small fan, it's perfect, as you walk in you actually walk into the "drovers".
If you're not a fan it will take you back it's an unchanged farmers country pub, but don't let that deter you, the rooms are stunningly clean, the staff friendly and very attentive."
"The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Pub had a lovely atmosphere.
The beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean."
"Amazing location and lovely staff. Sunday roast was delicious! Our room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. We came for the dark skies, and it was easy to pop outside at 3am when the clouds broke for a moment. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be and we’ve already booked a return trip next year."
"A very good little place. Room was clean and tidy and the bed comfortable. The food in the pub downstairs was good and the breakfast very good. Excellent value for money."
"Lovely hotel. Beautiful setting with an amazing view. The reviews we read before we stayed, said the staff were wonderful and friendly. Reviews often say this about hotels and we were just expecting the usual professional staff. However it must be said the staff were superb, stood out and had a major positive impact on our stay making it so enjoyable. The evening dinner very good. The breakfasts excellent. Definitely a place to stay."
"Very clean good reception on arrival wonderful breakfast evening meals were also very good and plenty of choice comfortuble beds all in all I would recommend this place good value for money"
"This hotel was ideal for our one night stay to visit our grandchildren who live nearby. The staff communicated with us to explain about the problems with the kitchen but they produced two superb pizzas and the draught beef was really nice."
"The Croft Hotel is a absolute gem! From the moment you arrive, the warm and welcoming staff make you feel right at home. The rooms are spotless, beautifully appointed, and exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful stay.
The highlight has to be the dining—the food is outstanding, crafted with fresh ingredients and full of flavour, complemented by a brilliant selection of drinks. Combined with its picturesque setting and relaxed, peaceful atmosphere, it’s the ideal spot for a relaxing getaway...
