"The room itself was clean, but the light above my bed was missing the pull chain and there was duct tape holding the rug in place on the stairs. The food in the restaurant was only okay - my salmon broccoli risotto was peas and rice with two bites of salmon and less broccoli. There is little to no soundproofing. But the bus stops right outside, which is extremely convenient. It's somewhere to stay when you have a flight that requires you to stay close to the airport, and it's pretty much what...
"Would have been 5 stars but breakfast let it down.You have to go over the main road for it which isn’t ideal. Also we had to wait 50 minutes for our breakfast to arrive. In the establishments defence it was a car rally day and they were frantically busy. But as we wanted to get on our way it was frustrating."
"The lady in the bar was super friendly and welcoming. Would highly recommend staying here. The only thing I would add would be a fan in the bedroom during this hot weather."
"We ensured we arrived before 17.00 hours as the hotel has no-one on reception from 17.00hrs onwards. We felt this was a little restrictive although the Ancient Mariner staff were available to a later time in the evening. We found it convenient to have restaurant and bar food available at the Ancient Mariner and can thoroughly recommend it too.
Breakfast is served between 8.00 and 10.00, a decent interval of time. The staff were pleasant and friendly but service for the hot food was a little slow...

"Nice, bright room at the top of the inn looking over the village street down to Hurlstone Point. Big, clean en-suite. Good full English breakfast, very friendly staff who wanted to be sure we were happy. The bar was lively in the evening with plenty of groups at the sofas, tables and bar-stools."
"We felt very welcome from arrival till departure. Good location, cheap parking nearby, decent breakfast to start your day. Keep in mind that the rooms are not air contained and not all windows can be opened. Ask for a fan of necessary."
