"Great glamping experience! Spacious and comfortable tent. Personal bathroom with shower. Great shared kitchen with small breakfast included. Lots of drinkable water included. Staff were very nice. "There’s a reason why my husband and I have travelled to this resort three times! Secrets Akumal checks off all of our boxes in terms of service, location, food, and amenities. The staff are wonderful, friendly and attentive, and our room was always spotless with turn down service at night! Snorkelling is also big on our list and we have seen everything from sting rays, turtles, barracudas and many different kinds of reef fish. The resort grounds are lush and beautiful with many lovely flowers and palms. Each path has something different to look forward to! We’d like to give a huge shout- out to Baltazar at the Oceana restaurant for his attentiveness, and for making our last dinner on the resort a memorable one! He truly went above and beyond. If you travel to Secrets Akumal, you will dream about going back!"

"What a fabulous place! This was our 2nd time in Akumal but our first at La Sirena and we will definitely be back. The grounds are gorgeous, the pool is beautiful, and you simply cannot beat the snorkeling on-site (bring water shoes as it's a rocky entry). Despite the many daytrips we planned, we hardly left the lounge chairs on the sargasso-free (!!) beach (except to grab excellent coffee and breakfast at Jungle Cafe just a short walk down the street). This was truly one of our most relaxing vacations - we can't wait to return."

"Que Onda was an outstanding property and we would love to return. The well maintained and beautiful garden contains a pool that is shared with only one other unit. It is an easy walk to Yalku lagoon as well as the reef on Half Moon Bay, or a short bike ride into Akumal. Bikes and snorkeling gear are available for guest use. The unit itself is simply gorgeous and the pictures don't do it justice. Note that the Master bedroom is on the 3rd (US definition) floor, but the view from the master patio is well worth it. We were up early each morning to listen to the bird song and watch as the sun rose over the jungle, with peekaboo views of the water. The owners live on site and are so kind and responsive and we truly enjoyed getting to visit with them. Their new undertaking, a small bakery with sourdough bread, pastries and other goodies, was such incredible treat. All of our meals were outside in the garden, which was so lovely and peaceful. We spent 10 days driving around the Yucatan peninsula, taking in as much as we could, but it was Que Onda that we will dream of returning to. "

"We loved everything about this lovely house! Having private access to Yal-Ku Lagoon is amazing. And the pool and the large palapa are terrific. We especially loved the local wildlife that walks through the yard- so cool! It’s a short two minute walk to the new bakery at Que Onda (we had hot sourdough every morning)- icing on the cake. Highly recommend renting a golf cart- it made getting around so much fun. "
