Friendly easy check in, purchased scratch card from accommodation for £2 for 2 days and parked outside over the road, food lovely and low cost, very central location.
Thank you Debbie and staff we had a great stay with you, it was that good we have booked again for August bank holiday.
Also Sunday lunch was amazing thank you
Friendly staff, comfortable and very clean room. Was able to park close by with help of hotel, who provided on street parking permit for smallcharge £4 for 2 nights. Would definetely recommend and will use again
Brilliant place to stay in, parking close by if you want to pay! Although they do give you a parking permit for the zones near by if you can find a space. Really convenient for a walk down to the harbour/beach
We stayed in the family room which was great. We like the fact that there was 2 separate double bedrooms there's no sitting area but it is a room and not an annexe so it wasn't expected.
Both rooms did have separate tea trays so if 2 people wanted to save a bit of cash and share a room it's a great bargain.
The shower was plenty big enough and powerful and the bathroom was a decent size too. The towels and bed linen are good quality with feather quilts and pillows and white cotton bedding.
There is a fair few stairs to go up so might be unsuitable for people with walking issues.
The staff are friendly and check in was so easy and we got an email the day before asking if we needed anything like a late check in or out which can be done at a small cost but as you don't have to checkout until 11 there's was no need for us to do so. The breakfast was not included but the pub downstairs starts serving brunch at 11 and has a great choice so if you want a lay in just go to that , they also serve food all day and it's a good price compared to some places in Whitby. The granby has always been a great pub so it's a bonus to be staying above and the location to other amenities is really good , all in all it was a good reasonably priced stay and we will definitely be back

Room was okay, but only that. The room was clean and tidy, however the bed was very creaky, not ideal if you were planning to have a romantic weekend!!
Shower wasn’t the most powerful and the shower head was fixed in position with a cable tie, so no adjustment.
On a positive note, the pub food was good and the Theakston ales on the bar are very well kept
Macheala booked us in, she’s so friendly and helpful, a great asset to this old pub with rooms, it’s not a hotel. The entrance door for guests is piled high with cigarette ends, not a good look. Our room at the top of a very narrow staircase was so small, the bed was a small double and we didn’t get much sleep. Not fit for two adults. The room was so hot but we couldn’t keep the window open as the pubs cellar cooling system ran all night long with the system just under our window. They don’t offer breakfast which is not included, until 10 am, too late as we had a bus to catch at that time. Real hotels offer breakfast from much earlier. Very disappointed and not worth the money paid.
The pub itself was fantastic and the staff were helpful and the food was great and well priced. The room itself had a strong smell like a damp carpet or drain as we opened the door. We left the window open while we walked around the town but the smell remained...it was even stronger in the wee bathroom which had no ventilation and a notice advising to keep the bathroom door and window open while showering to prevent steam build up. Speaking of which, there were no toiletries in the shower. For the price we paid for the room i dont think it was value for money.
Good location and comfortable
Just be aware of the live music in the bar that is on until 11,30 at night on a Friday and Saturday...no good if you want an eatrly night...even tho the rooms are on the second floor!

Nice hotel food excellent, very small room and not what I would expect for £90 a night far from value for money
Friendly staff and lovely bar. Ok room for price. We expected there to be some noise from the street down below with it being a central location and midweek but not at 7am also they dont have double glazing on 1 window in room 1 so was very noisy. Would recommend to stay here but only if you are an early riser and dont mind on your trip away. Unfortunately the noise has put us off staying here again.
