Vagabond Inn Santa Barbara - Carpinteria North

Vagabond Inn Santa Barbara - Carpinteria North

8/10 Good
"I’ve never been to a hotel when they didn’t allow you to check in when you arrived, even if you were a few minutes before check in time. Here they made us line up, outside and wait til “exactly” 3:00. Then the woman that made us all wait, grabbed her purse and left, leaving one poor guy to check us all in. It was chaos, and tempers flared. Some of the guests had driven a long distance and were tired and just wanted to get to their rooms. Perhaps if you want everyone to check in at once, you should schedule more staff to accommodate them. Or, maybe check in and do the paperwork and if the rooms aren’t ready, the guest could wait a few minutes by the pool. If the rooms are ready, what is the harm letting guest in a little early? I felt really bad for the guy having to check everyone in all by himself."

"I had problems with parking upon arrival. The availability of parking not next to the hotel was not well explained. I had expected the hotel to have its own parking but apparently is shared and there was a fair or similar event at a park nearby so no spaces available next to hotel. They should have a map to tell people easily where to park as there are no signs. Frustrating after a flight and a long drive from airport to hotel. Also, the a/c was very weak. It is an old hotel and it shows it although everything was very clean. Breakfast was minimal but didn't expect much."
