"Upon arrival the kitchen was lacking utensils but that was quickly taken care of. Food was very good, service was friendly, pool was perfect. Could use more umbrellas. The rooms were lovely, beds comfortable, linens fluffy and white. The grounds were well kept."

"Beautiful hotel, the staff was polite and helpful most of the tim I would not recommend planning the ride from the airport to the hotel when you arrive. We did so and were told it was 100USD which we agreed to. I understand the hotel hires a driver from another company, so how bad it went is probably not entirely their fault but it went terrible (the driver started texting and calling me an hour before the plane landed - yes we were in the plane - then left when we were not out 10 minutes after landing. We had to wait 40 minutes for him to drive back. Everything was through Whatsapp so there was no way I could receive anything before connecting to wifi). There was little to no apologies from the driver or the hotel staff. When asked to pay at the front desk, the staff told us it was 2000 pesos or 100USD for the ride. We are Canadian and so do not carry USD and wanted to pay in pesos but the conversion at the time of our visit should have been about 1700 pesos instead of 2000 pesos. We were upset that they tried to have us pay more than agreed upon. We also rented the bikes for a day. We left the hotel and realized one of the bike had the handles loose. We went back and they gave us another one. Unfortunately, that bike that they replaced got a flat. With great difficulty, we found someone on the side of the road to repair it as we were too far from the hotel. We mentioned it to the staff and brushed it off and didn’t offer to reimburse the fee we had to pay to fix the tire. "

"We loved Hotel Alito for its access to the ocean. The little huts we stayed were so cute.the nearby restaurant was excellent and the ceviche was the Best i had the whole week i was in Mexico. Daniel and Rudolpho at the front desk were amazing.helping us with a smile and treating us like queens. I hope I have the chance to come back to Tulum and Hotel Alito will be my first choice "

"We recently stayed at Kimpton Aluna Tulum and while there were some positives, overall the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. The location was convenient - serving as a good mid point between the beach and Tulum Centro and an easy walk to restaurants and shops which we appreciated. The hotel offers complimentary bikes which were useful for getting around, although they were fairly basic and difficult to use. Staff were friendly on arrival, housekeeping was good, and the daily social hour with a different cocktail each day was a nice touch. Breakfast was also good, with a reasonable but small buffet selection and some dishes available to order. However, the rooms felt dark, dingy and poorly ventilated, with condensation and a noticeable damp smell. We initially had a ground-floor room and asked to move upstairs, which was slightly better. On the whole, the rooms (and hotel) felt tired and in need of a refurb. Amenities were fairly minimal – for example there were no tea or coffee making facilities or slippers, or a hand held shower head which we would usually expect at a hotel of this level. That said, reception provided us a kettle when we asked for one. Although it was nice to be in nature, we felt the grounds were much more overgrown and rustic than the photos suggest, which was the reason for the hotel feeling dark. The lower pool area was peaceful but could have used better maintenance as it was often covered in leaves and had some missing tiles. The swim-"

"The room was not good. I upgraded to a priority swim out and the lock on the conjoined room was broken the screen on the sliding door was ripped the safe was broken. And the worst part was no bar service for the swim out and the closest bar was at the other end of the property so having the swim out room was not worth it if you're planning on drinking. The food was not that good and the only thing the minny bar had was soda and water. I would not go back and wouldn't recommend. For this being a Hyatt property for me it was disappointing as I have always had better from their property's and paying to be a priority member I was disappointed as I just did not get that. "

"This hotel was lovely. The setting is gorgeous, the dining room overlooking the pool area is a nice feature. Our room was beautiful and very well kept daily. It was stocked with everything we needed, even bathrobes. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bar was nice, but not used very often. I felt bad for the bartender at times. The morning breakfast was good, and a variety of things so you didn’t have to have the same each day. The pool was kept clean but quite cold for swimming. The same for the private plunge pool on our private deck (gorgeous) but very cold. This location is easy walking distance to the main town area for a wide selection of restaurants, cafes and shopping for gifts, etc. Right across the street from 2 fabulous grocery stores. The beach is about 4 kms, so 1/2 hr walk or you can get a cab, rent a scooter. I loved the area and would recommend it for couples or families with older kids. "
