"The hotel’s public rooms maintain a faded charm of times long gone, but the bedrooms and bathrooms are modern, well equipped and functional. The setting overlooking the coast could not be bettered - and enjoying it whilst tucking into an excellent buffet breakfast was great. We will definitely return."

"This really wasn’t a pleasant stay. I arrived and we showed to my room which was freezing cold as the radiator wasn’t turned on. I tried to book a table for 8:30 pm but was told the kitchen closed at 8 pm. Even when I arrive home from dinner the room was still freezing and the duvet cover was very thin. The window banged all night heating didn’t come on early in the morning. I was cold all night.The breakfast the following day was awful."

"Still the best place to stay in Poole. Shower was awesome, enough room to get a rugby union team in!!! Great location near the restaurants on the Quay and a ten minute walk from the train station. Deluxe Room was very spacious and had an iron bath in the corner!! However, mattress was too soft and the pillows too 'fluffy'. Just a personal note, but we needed hard mattresses and 'dull' pillows. "Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Pool was much needed in the heatwave. Feel this is a bit of a victim of its own success. It draws a certain clientele and doesn’t feel exclusive and for the price it should do. Pool needed cleaning. Otherwise head and shoulders above all the other Bournemouth hotels. View was of the travelodge carpark"

"We’ve had bad experiences before with twin beds pushed together instead of a proper double bed, so this was especially disappointing. We came to celebrate our 21st anniversary and were allocated two single beds joined together. During the night the beds separated, leaving a gap in the middle, and we were both woken up after falling into it. We both struggled to sleep and ended up with back pain the next morning. "The hotel had a nice indoor pool, a good breakfast and the staff were all helpful and friendly. It’s a short walk to the seafront and into town. Our room was in the lodge - a separate building but adjacent to main hotel, all clean and a decent sized room. Small print stuff…Our parking was chargeable but I think I read somewhere that it’s free if you book directly with the hotel. We also paid a £50 refundable deposit per room per night."

"Amazing views over Poole! We ate dinner at the hotel as we wanted to enjoy the view. Breakfast was busy which is to be expected as I think all room rates include breakfast- they had to pause taking orders for 5/10 mins as the chef had too many orders . It would be a good idea to ask guests to book a time for breakfast in order to avoid a sudden influx at one time. Lots of stuff ran out and staff members seemed stressed. "The room we paid for did not resemble the room we got! No Window, dark, dingy and ver, very damp. Damp on the wall between bed & bath/shower. Bed was damp. "Outside of hotel very shabby, inside looked a lot nicer. No facilities such as catering and spa etc all had to used at their sister hotel next door. "A gen of a stay! We had the "Crab Apple" room, at the rear of the building, on first floor over top of the kitchen (?). Very quiet apart from the rattling bath exhaust fans of the room. Apparently those can be switched off, but we never found the switch. No other sounds st all in the room. Comfy bed, good cooked breakfast, and great staff. We also enjoyed an excellent evening meal in the very good on-site restaurant. Easy walk to the nearby art gallery and to the beaches."
