"The pub itself is very old and in need of complete redecoration. The stairs, carpets, walls, paintwork leading up to the room was in a very poor state. Carpets need a good clean and decorating needs to be done. However, although the room was very basic and worn, the bed was comfortable, the bed linen clean and well laundered. "Absolutely lovely oasis of tranquility in the New Forest. We took our small dog and everything was catered for from bowls and towels in the room to a washing station and poo bags. Staff were amazing, busy but always helpful and chatty. Food was top notch, as were the cocktails and a lovely breakfast. Can’t fault it, oh and there was air con in the room……. Thank god!"

"Amazing, historic building with many original features such as a beautiful tiled hallway and original call bells in the corridor. However, the decor and soft furnishings are all a little tired and dated in the common areas and overdue for an upgrade. "Fabulous modern Miami themed hotel the beds are super comfortable and Aircon which is very much needed this weekend. The staff was so friendly and helpful proper service with a smile and all very engaging. Fabulous view of the sea and a gorgeous pool. My only criticism was filling the kettle in the modern sink difficult !"
