"The best part of the unit was the location, right across from the ocean and just down the street from the sand beach. The listing was accurate - we knew we would have a partially obstructed view. The downside was the unit didn't seem to be a rental "by owner". It seemed to be a (non local) rental company. A lot of small things weren't great - beds sqeeked/creaked badly, mattresses were poor, not enough towel bars and hooks for wet towels and bathing suits, thin bath towels, no laundry, etc. Also the back bedroom could have easily fit a twin bed along with the full/queen, making it more comfortable for families. The link to the website for information on the unit was hard to navigate and not particularly helpful. This all being said, the 'owners' were very responsive the couple times we needed to reach out. If it wasn't so incredibly expensive, I would rate it higher, but for the cost we wouldn't rent here again."

"This room could not have been any more cuter! Retro 50s/60s vibe but in such a cool way - not a single tacky thing. Everything was as promised. The bed was super comfortable, the bathroom was perfect, and it was all clean. The pool was heaven on earth. Self check-in and out was easy breezy. I can't wait to go back!"
"We had a spectacular visit in July with our extended family. It was the perfect place to hold our family reunion of 24 people. The property had so much old charm with all the comforts of home and a wonderful location to just hang out, go to the beach or shop and eat in Portsmouth. We would not hesitate to do it again and we appreciated the care and communication provided by Chelsi."
"This was our second stay at this property. We absolutely love the home and location. There are so many great extras that make it a heaven for boys and convenience for parents. It has everything you could possibly need. We were a bit disappointed this year that the downstairs bedroom no longer has a bunk bed. We were planning to put three 12-year olds in that room. Instead we took the twin mattress from the upstairs bedroom and put it on the floor. It worked out for us but might not have if we had brought more guests. The upstairs air conditioner had not been emptied so it stopped working. There were no provisions to empty it ourselves (like perhaps a hose or tray??) so my 20-year old held it up as high as he could so we could drain some water into a baking pan. It worked for a while but he wasn't able to hold it long enough to drain all the water, so in the morning it was off again. These are minor compared with all the positives. This year my kids were all about the tandem bike, skateboard and the proximity to Summer Sessions surf shop and store/cafe. We also made a reservation in advance to the Carriage House 2 blocks away and that made the trip for me. Amazing food and service!! We will be back to this property. It's clean and comfortable, spacious enough and the beds and linens are great."
