"Room wes very clean and bed really comfortable. Lovely staff, all very cheery and really helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and even had our evening meals there. It is a very pet friendly hotel, it was nice to meet some new friends . On the whole we loved this hotel and would highly recommend a stay."

"I rated my stay very high at the Mermaid Inn because it was a special detour in the very charming city of Rye. The inn was perfectly located. The food was excellent, from delicious fish and chips on the pub to a 5 star dinner in the dining room. Keep in mind this is a very old building with crooked steps and low ceilings. It may not be suitable for everyone. Our room was adorable and very comfortable. "

"We recently stayed at this hotel and had a mixed experience. The breakfast was excellent, with a great choice of foods, and the service from the staff throughout our stay was genuinely outstanding. Unfortunately, the bedrooms and en-suite facilities were very dated and in need of a thorough clean and modernisation. We were disappointed on arrival, although the staff did change our room without any trouble. The second room had a slightly larger bed, but the overall standard still fell well below the expectations set by the photos on the website. The bar and breakfast room have clearly been refurbished and look beautiful, but from the stairs upwards the hotel is in real need of some TLC. The stair carpet is threadbare, and there are visible cracks in the walls, ripped wallpaper, dirty paintwork, and thick dust in several areas. The staff and breakfast were definite highlights, but the accommodation and general upkeep let the experience down. "

"Lovely hotel. Very glad I took their offer to book table for dinner on first night, as we struggled to find somewhere on the 2nd night that had a table. Rye was lovely, suspect we will go back one day and would happily stay at same hotel again. We had great view out to Camber castle and walked there and to great bird hide nearby to it."

"Lovely room, great food in restaurant. Hotel doesn't do breakfast in week but lovely cafe next door doing breakfasts etc. Car park close too, have to pay but free 7pm to 7am."

"Such a sweet little cottage right in the centre of Rye. Great communication with the host. Very functional kitchen, netflix on the tv, fire starters and kindling for the fire, warm house when heating is on, comfortable beds and good pressure on the shower. "
